Civic Collaboration: Thinking through Complex Issues to Support Civic Action with Dr. Lori Britt - July 17, 1 pm to 3 pm (eastern)
Creativity in Collaboration: New Tools and Practices for Getting Beyond Fixed Thinking with Dr. Don Waisanen - August 7, 2 pm to 4 pm (eastern)

Listening to Improve Collaboration: Turning Monologue into Dialogue
How can we stop talking past each other, and start building real understanding? Listening helps transform monologue into dialogue—yet most of us have never been taught how to truly listen.*
Featuring IF Collaborative Discussion Project (CDP) Visiting Fellow Dr. John Igwebuike, this Listening to Improve Collaboration Workshop explores listening as a critical yet overlooked skill for effective group work, community-building, and leadership. You will get an exclusive introduction to brand-new activities, not yet publicly released, from the free Collaborative Discussion Toolkit that help develop the listening practices essential for productive, inclusive, and purpose-driven conversations.
Rooted in both research and practical application, this session will guide you through key strategies for active listening before, during, and after dialogue—equipping you to improve collaboration across context from the personal to the professional and even the political.

Civic Collaboration: Thinking through Complex Issues to Support Civic Action
How can we unveil the hidden connections that shape our communities—and use that insight to drive meaningful change?
Featuring Collaborative Discussion Project (CDP) Visiting Fellow Dr. Lori Britt, this Civic Collaboration Workshop invites participants to explore systems thinking as a powerful tool for civic learning and engagement.
You will get an exclusive introduction to a brand-new activity, not yet publicly released, from the free Collaborative Discussion Toolkit, designed to help you map out community issues in ways that reveal patterns and connections, while highlighting key leverage points: places where small, strategic actions can lead to meaningful impact. There will also be guidance on how to facilitate the activity yourself to promote civic collaboration and support civic action.
When: 1 pm – 3 pm (eastern) on July 17

Creativity in Collaboration: New Tools and Practices for Getting Beyond Fixed Thinking
How can we move beyond fixed thinking to unlock more adaptive, joyful, and innovative ways to work together—even in challenging times?
Featuring IF Collaborative Discussion Project (CDP) Visiting Fellow Dr. Don Waisanen, this upcoming Creativity in Collaboration Workshop explores how creativity strengthens collaborative problem-solving, whether in the classroom, corporate office, or community. You will get an exclusive introduction to brand new activities, not yet publicly released, from the free Collaborative Discussion Toolkit that set the stage for innovation and collaboration, while fostering joy and a sense of shared connection. The session also includes a brief overview of the Toolkit itself, which is full of both new and time-tested activities that create positive climates for discussion, promote creative ideas and interactions, and enable flexible thinking in the face of even the trickiest problems.

We are able to offer a discounted price due to the generous support of the Interactivity Foundation. Our programming should never be cost prohibitive. Please contact us if a scholarship is needed.
